The 1994 Coatesville Girls Basketball team opened their season with a 90 to 22 drubbing of Norristown and never looked back on their way to a 29 and 1 record
and the first State Basketball championship in school history..

Catherine (Cathy) Walsh Hay is one of Chester County’s most successful high school women’s swimming coaches. As an undergraduate at West Chester State College
(now West Chester University) Cathy was the captain of the Women’s Varsity Swimming team for three years, leading the squad to undefeated seasons in every season.

Kim still holds an NCAA Lacrosse goalie saves record today! While at University of Delaware, Kim was selected to NCAA Lacrosse tournament team, All-Region Team,
All- East Coast Conference Team and the U.S. Women’s Lacrosse Squad. Kim starting teaching and coaching at B. Reed Henderson High School in 1986.

BILL “GRUMPY” JENKINS: Drag Racing
Class of 2016
Bill Jenkins began drag racing in a 1955 Chevrolet convertible at Berwyn, Pa. before going off to college at Cornell University for engineering. He became nationally known after helping to build 30 cars that set national records. He became known in national circles as the engine builder for Dave Strickler in the early 1960’s.

Jen O'Donnell, a graduate of Upper Perkiomen HS and West Chester University (1983), she has spent the last 33 years (1983) officiating lacrosse. An All-American scholastic
player at Upper Perkiomen, she played Field Hockey, Basketball, and Lacrosse. She graduated from West Chester in 1983 and immediately dove into Officiating.

Jonathan Sheppard is a Hall of Fame trainer in American Thoroughbred horse racing. He is the all-time leading steeplechase trainer in America, with over 1,000
wins and over $20,000,000 in earnings. He has won the yearly earnings title twenty-four times.

AMANDA BROWN STREETER: Basketball
Class of 2016
Amanda Brown Streeter is being nominated for her outstanding accomplishments in basketball at both the high school and college levels. Amanda, a 2003 graduate of Unionville
High School, is the current all-time school scoring leader, scoring 2,266 points during her career. She holds the school single game scoring record with 44 points and is the free throw percentage
record holder at 81%.

Suber had an outstanding career playing basketball player at Downingtown High School, University of Virginia, and Charlotte Sting and Orlando Miracle of the
Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Suber was a four-year starter on the Downingtown High School girls basketball team that won four District 1 and two AAAA State Championships.

During her 17 seasons as head coach, Renee Talley led the Lady Raiders to a record 322 wins vs. only 102 losses. Her teams were remarkably successful, winning five Ches-Mont League
championships and two District titles, her success culminating in leading her team to the PIAA State Championship in 1994.

Elinor Zimmerman Taylor was a 1939 graduate of West Chester High School. In 1943 she graduated from West Chester State College and in 1958 she earned a Master's
Degree in Education form Temple University. She started her career as an educator in the Ridley Park, Delaware County school system.

Edward "Ted" Torrance was born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. As a young man, he would often spend summers with relatives in West Chester. He was a graduated of
West Catholic High School for Boys, class of 1949. Ted's father was a doctor and Ted went to Notre Dame as a pre-med student.

MARIA WHITEHEAD: Field Hockey
Class of 2016
Maria Whitehead enjoyed a high school career in field hockey and lacrosse at West Chester East that was capped off by being named the 1998 Chester County Player
of the Year, and the WC East High School female athlete of the year. A two sport, 4 year letter winner in both sports, Whitehead captained both teams her senior year. She
