Renee Talley
Coach • Coatesville

Renee Talley is the winningest coach in the history of Coatesville H.S. girls’ basketball. During her 17 seasons as head coach, she led the Lady Raiders to a record 322 wins vs. only 102 losses. Her teams were remarkably successful, winning five Ches-Mont League championships and two District titles, her success culminating in leading her team to the PIAA State Championship in 1994. Renee’s teams were extremely consistent - during one eight year stretch, her teams won over 20 games each season and advanced to the State tournament every year. She was selected as the Daily Local News Coach of the Year in 1989 and 1994, as well as PNC Coach of the Year in 1994. It is noteworthy that, not only did Renee lead her team to a record number of victories, but also that she did it the right way; under her guidance and leadership, her teams were awarded the Tri-County Officials’ Sportsmanship Award for 5 consecutive years. Over her 30 plus year career in the Coatesville Area School District, as a teacher, coach, and administrator, Renee has been a tireless promoter and advocate for girls’ sports and has positively impacted many of her colleagues and students. Renee was inducted into the Coatesville H. S. Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004.
