Bill Jenkins began drag racing in a 1955 Chevrolet convertible at Berwyn, Pa. before going off to college at Cornell University for engineering. He became nationally known after helping to build 30 cars that set national records. He became known in national circles as the engine builder for Dave Strickler in the early 1960’s. Amanda, a 2003 graduate of Unionville High School, is the current all-time school scoring leader, scoring 2,266 points during her career. Edward "Ted" Torrance was born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. As a young man, he would often spend summers with relatives in West Chester. Maria Whitehead
MARIA WHITEHEAD: Field Hockey
Class of 2016

Maria Whitehead enjoyed a high school career in field hockey and lacrosse at West Chester East that was capped off by being named the 1998 Chester County Player of the Year, and the WC East High School female athlete of the year.
