Cheryl Holland Hunstock was a three sport outstanding athlete for Great Valley High School in Malvern, PA and West Chester University. She graduated from Great Valley in 1973 and West Chester University in 1977.

While at Great Galley H.S. Cheryl was a two time MVP for each sport in which she participated; field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse. She was also a two year All Ches-Mont selection in all three sports. In 1973 she was picked as female athlete of the year and was selected as 1 of 6 outstanding seniors in the class of 1973 at Great Valley H.S.

Cheryl graduated from West Chester University in 1977 with a B.S. Degree in health and physical education where she earned 10 varsity letters. She was a starter her freshman year on the basketball team and also a starter in field hockey and lacrosse. She was a member of the 1st and 2nd National Championship Field Hockey teams (1975 and 1976) under Hall of Fame coach Vonnie Gros. Her senior year, Cheryl co-captained the 1976 National Championship Field Hockey team and was captain of the WCU basketball team. Cheryl was inducted into the WCU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009 and also the National Championship Field Hockey teams (1975-76) which were inducted into the WCU Athletic HoF in 2014. Also, in 2016 her 1975 National Field Hockey Team was inducted into the U.S. Field Hockey HoF in Norfolk, VA.

After graduating from West Chester in 1977, Cheryl continued her basketball career playing overseas in Koln, Germany from 1977 to 1978. She returned to the states to coach women’s basketball on the collegiate level as an assistant coach at LaSalle University, and North Park University (Chicago, IL) and as head coach at Oakton Community College (Des Plaines, IL).

Cheryl is married to Bill Hunstock and has 3 children, and 7 grandchildren. She has worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation for 20 years as a training coordinator for the office of land management. She has coached youth league basketball, competed in 4 marathons between 1991 and 1993, has been an election judge for the city of Minneapolis for the past 10 years and is an active member of her Bethlehem Covenant Church, in Minneapolis MN.
