As a junior and senior, Chiccino was named First-Team All Ches-Mont as a fullback
at T-E high school. In his senior year, Chic was selected to the Pennsylvania
All-State Team. Chiccino entered West Chester State Teachers College where he
was a fullback and linebacker. Chic and his WCSTC football teammates posted an
incredible 31-5 record...including an undefeated season in 1957. Chiccino began a
career at Downingtown Area High School as a Physical Education Teacher, Coach,
and Administrator (1963-1997). For 25 years, Chic was the Chair of the Physical
Education Department. He was named head football coach in 1971 - a position he
held for 12 years. Chiccino was chosen as Ches-Mont League Coach of the Year
in 1976, leading the Whippets to a conference Co-Championship. Chic has been
honored by inductions into the Tredyffrin-Easttown-Conestoga High School Hall
of Fame, the West Chester University Killinger Hall of Fame and the Delaware
County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
