of the Year as a first baseman in his senior season at Phoenixville
High School. Selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1988 draft.
Switched position to catcher and went on to become a 12-time All-
Star behind the plate. Regarded as the best hitting catcher of all time.
Owns career record for most home runs by a catcher with 396. 1993
