Kelvin Butcher - Track and Field
Kelvin Butcher is being nominated for his outstanding accomplishments
in Track and Field. He was named to the Daily Local News AU Area Team
two years in a row and was West Chester East's leading scorer, leading
them to their best ever finish in the Ches-Mont League. Kelvin was named
to the Coaches AU Star team in 1978 and 1979.
Kelvin won the Pennsylvania State Long Jump Championship, with a leap
of 22' 6 3/4." He also anchored WC East's 4 x 100 Relay team to a first
place finish at the Penn Relays and second place finishes in both the
District and State Championships..
Kelvin was an outstanding three sport athlete, also excelling in basketball
and football. ln basketball he was Team Captain and led the team in
scoring for three years. ln 1978, he was named MVP of the Bishop
Shanahan Holiday Tournament. He continued his basketball career at
West Chester University.
ln football, he was an outstanding wide receiver, receiving All Ches-Mont
League honors in both his junior and senior years. Kelvin was named to
the All-Area team both years.
Julie Hull Elicker - Lacrosse
Julie's athletic accomplishments began at Great Valley High School, where she was a four-year varsity athlete in field hockey and lacrosse.
She was a team captain when the Patriots captured the lacrosse league championship in 1974 and 1975. She was the team MVP in 1973, 1974 and
1975. At GVHS, she was also captain and MVP of the 1975 field hockey team and was named GVHS Outstanding Female Athlete.
At James Madison University, Julie competed on the varsity field hockey and lacrosse teams all four years. She was co-captain in 1978 when JMU
was the lacrosse conference champion, as well as the VA champion. Also, she was JMU MVP and captain of the field hockey team! ln 1979, she won
the JMU Female Leadership Award. Julie was inducted into the JMU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000.
Post- college, Julie's lacrosse career continued, playing for the Philadelphia Club and the Philadelphia National Tournament Team from
1979-1986. Julie played for the US National Team in 1981, 1983, 1985 and 1986. ln 1981 she was on the US Lacrosse Touring Team in Australia, where
they won the Best of Five test matches. ln 1982, she and the US Women's Lacrosse World Cup Team won the Gold Medal and, in 1986, she captained the US Women's Lacrosse World Cup team to the Silver Medal.

Aaron Harris - Football
Aaron Harris of Downingtown High School is being nominated for his
outstanding career as an outstanding football player and as a
successful coach.
Setting several high school, league and state records as a star running
back and linebacker, Aaron laid the foundation for Downingtown High
School's football program being nationally recognized, earning a spot
in USA Today's Top Yen in 1994, when they were Ches-Mont League
Champions. Legendary University of Nebraska Football Coach Tom
Osborne called Aaron the best all-around football player he ever
evaluated! Aaron had a truly remarkable high school football career.
He was a 1st team AU Ches-Mont selection for two years on both
offense and defense, won the Ches-Mont League MVP Award, was
named First Team AU- State, Pennsylvania High School Player of the
year, the Philadelphia lnquirer Player of the Year, and was honored as a
Parade All-American!
Aaron continued his football career at Penn State University and
continued to excel, one season leading the Big Ten Conference in yards
rushing per attempt. He was the starting fullback and Captain for three
years, played twice in the Outback Bowl and once each ln the Fiesta
and Alamo Bowls. Aaron later played professionally with the Berlin
Thunder.
Aaron's love for the game served as the catalyst for his coaching
career. He has coached at Downingtown High School, Valley Forge
Military Academy, West Chester University, the University of
Tennessee and the University of Delaware. Aaron was the first black
head coach for the Blue/Gray AU-Star Game.
Aaron continues to mentor athletes after their high school careers.
Doug Hendricks - Golf
Doug Hendricks is nominated for his numerous positive contributions to the game of golf.
Doug attended West Chester University, where he played golf and
basketball. While in college, he was sponsored to play on the PGA Club
Pro Mini Tour.
ln 1987, Doug was inducted into the Professional Golfers' Association of
America (PGA), and that same year was named the Head Golf Professional
at White Manor Country Club, becoming the youngest Head Golf
Professional in the Philadelphia PGA section, which encompassed over
500 golf facilities. Doug served at White Man or until 2001.
During his career, he hosted four PGA events, 1 Senior PGA Tour Event,
and conducted 200 Charity Golf Outings. ln 1997, he received the
Children's Champion Award for hosting and building the Buddy Program,
which provides golfing opportunities for children with disabilities. Since
2002, Doug has been nominated for Teacher of the Year in the Philadelphia
PGA eight times.
Doug has excelled as a teacher and coach. He has given over 35,000 golf
lessons since 1987! Also, Doug was the coach of the West Chester
University Women's Golf team from 2010-2019, leading them to their first
and only PSAC Championship and being named PSAC Coach of the Year in
2010..
Doug was the co-host of the Emmy Award winning show, "Golf Shots,"
which aired over 100 episodes on Comcast Sportsnet from 2002-2009.
Presently, Doug is the Owner, Executive Producer and Host of "Winning
Golf," which has aired over 170 episodes on NBC Sports Philadelphia in
the Mid-Atlantic region since 2010.
Allison Hostetter - Basketball
Born in Southern Chester County and residing in Oxford, PA, Allison was
one of the best basketball point guards of her era. She was noted for her
prolific scoring and lockdown defensive play.
At Oxford High School, she played and started in three varsity sports
(Basketball, Field Hockey, Softball) from her sophomore through her senior
year. She was named All-League in all three sports!
Allison continued her athletic career at West Chester University, playing
basketball under Coach Deirdre Kane. As a point guard, she led her team in
four different categories, scored over 1,000 career points and was named
to the AU PSAC team.
Allison is an assistant basketball coach at her alma mater, West Chester University.
Michael Lorback - Soccer
Michael Lorback is nominated for his successful 26 year career as the
Boys' Soccer Coach at Henderson High School. His teams earned 308
wins; he is the winningest soccer coach in Ches-Mont League history.
Between 2000-2005, the Henderson soccer team won three District 1
titles, reached the State Finals four times, played in the State Final game
three times and, in 2002, won the PIAA-AAA State Championship!
Michael is a five-time Ches-Mont League Coach of the Year, the Daily
Local News Coach of the Year, Philadelphia lnquirer Coach of the Year,
Southeastern PA Coach of the Year and, in 2002, he was named PA State
Coach of the Year.
During the 50 year anniversary celebration of the Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference, Michael was recognized by his alma mater, West
Chester University, for his contributions to soccer.
He has served as the Ches-Mont League representative for the District 1
Steering Committee, a long-time Regional Chair on both the National High
School Ran king Committee and the Assistant Coach of the Year
committee, as well as the Co-Chair of the State High School Boys Ranking
Committee.
Michael developed the Mission Statement for the Pennsylvania Soccer
Coaches Association and established partnerships between the
Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association and NSCAA and EPYSA.
Michael Lorback is currently the secretary of the Pennsylvania Soccer
Coaches Association. Previously, he has served as their President, 1st
Vice President and 2nd Vice President.
Ken Noel - Track & Cross Country
A 1956 graduate of West Chester High School, Ken was an outstanding
distance runner in Cross Country and Track. ln Cross Country, he led his
team to two undefeated seasons. ln Track, Ken was 6th in the PIAA State
Championship in the 400 meters.
Ken continued his running career in college at both San Jose State
University and Texas Southern University. Ken excelled on both the Track
and Cross Country teams. ln track, he was a star performer in both the 400
and 800 meter runs and, in 1964, he was the NCAA champion in the 800
meters!
After college, Ken became a professor at San Jose State University. Along
with Professor Harry Edwards and Olympie track athletes Tommie Smith,
Lee Evans and John Carlos, formed the Olympie Project for Human Rights,
which culminated at the 1968 Olympic Games with the Black Fist
demonstration on the Olympie awards podium. Ken received honors from
both the NAACP and the World Track Federation for his efforts in fighting
inequality.
Ken continued his life-long love of running, completing three marathons
and authoring two books on training.
Anne Sage - Field Hockey/Lacrosse
Anne was a pioneer in coaching for women's athletics. She was the first varsity head coach for Lacrosse and Field Hockey at the University of
Pennsylvania, where she coached for 24 years. She coached the Field Hockey team to seven Ivy League Championships. ln 1988, her team
reached the NCAA Final Four, and she was named Coach of the Year by the Philadelphia Sportswriter's Association. ln 1990, she was named Coach of
the Year by the March of Dimes. During her time at Penn, Anne coached six All-American Field Hockey players. Anne had 178 career wins.
Anne started Lacrosse as a club team at Penn, nurturing it into a Varsity program and winning the lvy League Championship in 1982. Her teams
advanced to post-season play from 1980-1984.
During her time at Penn, she coached ten All-American Lacrosse players and earned 151 career wins.
ln her collegiate playing career at Temple University, Anne was a two-time All-American in Lacrosse.
On the national level, Anne was a member of the US Women's Lacrosse team for seven years.
Sage was a leader in promoting Title IX sports for women athletes. She was instrumental in the transition of women's programs from the AAIW
(Association of lntercollegiate Athletics for Women) to the NCAA in the 80's. ln recognition of her persistence in the struggle for equality, Anne was
awarded the Robert E. Davies Award for Promoting Social Change and justice in 1985.
Anne Sage has been inducted into the Abington High School, Temple University, Tri-County and Montgomery County Halls of Fame.
Anne and her husband raised their two daughters in East Coventry Township, Chester County. A wife, mother, grandmother and a mentor to
many young women, Anne passed away suddenly in 2019.
Maureen “Bean” Scott (Dupcak) - Lacrosse
Maureen “Bean” Scott (Dupcak) is nominated for her many athletic achievements, especially in women’s lacrosse. She was a three-sport athlete at West Chester East High School in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse leading her teams to State Championship games. Bean was a member of the 1990 PIAA State Championship lacrosse team, was a Lacrosse High School All-American, the Most Outstanding Female Athlete at East in 1990 and named to the 1990 Chester County All-Century Lacrosse Team.
At the University of Maryland she was a starter and letter winner for four years in field hockey and lacrosse. Bean played in 6 NCAA Final Four Championships, won an NCAA Championship in both field hockey (1993) and lacrosse (1994), was an All-American in field hockey (1993) and lacrosse (1994), was inducted into the University of Maryland Hall of Fame in 2014, and is a member of the 50th Anniversary All-Atlantic Coast Conference team in lacrosse.
Post-college, Bean continued her lacrosse career playing for the US National Lacrosse team (1995 – 2001) winning Gold at the World Cup in 1997. While still competing at the international level, she became head lacrosse coach at American University and was named Colonial Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 1999 and Patriot League Coach of the Year in 2003.
In 2008 she was inducted into the Potomac Chapter Lacrosse Hall of Fame for playing and coaching. She is also an outstanding lacrosse official having officiated the Maryland State High School Championship 5 times.
Samantha Staudt - Golf
Samantha Staudt was a four year member of the Coatesville Area Senior
High School team golf team. She was named to the First Team All ChesMont
Girls Golf Team every season, and she was the 3-time Girls ChesMont
Tournament Champion. She had two top-Three finishes in the PIAA
Regionals and qualified for the PIAA State Tournament four times. ln 2014,
she was named the High School Girls All-Area Golfer of the Year; she
received the Congressional Scholar-Athlete Award, and she won the
USGA Pennsylvania Junior Amateur Championship!
While at CASH, she accomplished one of the most unique feats a golfer
can achieve- in a nine-hole match, she recorded not one, but two holes-in-one at the lnniscrone Golf Club, which earned her a place in Sports
lllustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" section!
Samantha continued her golfing career at Seton Hall University, where
she was the Big East "Golfer of the Week" three times. ln the 2018-19
season, she finished 5th on the team and was ranked 19th in the
conference. ln 2019-20, she was ranked 9th in the Big East with a 75.00
scoring average. She tied for 2nd place with a career best 3 under par at the
Princeton lnvitational, setting a school scoring record for a two-round
tournament.
While at Seton Hall, she was named to the All-Academic Big East Team
and the All-American All-Academic Team four times each. She made the
Dean's List every semester at Seton Hall and graduated Magna Cum
Laude with a double major.
Samantha resides in the Coatesville area and works in the finance sector
for Morgan Stanley.
