Robyn Nye Wood was a stellar lacrosse and field hockey player at Downingtown High School (1987).

Named to numerous local and state all-star teams, she was voted high school lacrosse All-American (1987)

She matriculated at the University of Virginia and continued to play both field hockey and lacrosse for four years, excelling on the lacrosse field.

A two-time first team All-American (1990 & 1991) she was co-captain of the 1991 NCAA National Championship team, and was voted the National Defensive Player of the Year (1991). In addition she was voted to the NCAA All-Tournament Team (1991) and was the 1991 University of Virginia Most Valuable Athlete.

Following graduation she spent ten years as a member of the Philadelphia Lacrosse Club, and the United States Women’s National Lacrosse Team winning the 1997 World Cup. For her accomplishments Robin was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference 50th Anniversary team (2002), and had her jersey retired at UVA (2012).

She is a member of several halls of fame: Downingtown Area High School, US Lacrosse Charlottesville Chapter (2012), US National Lacrosse (2017), and the US Lacrosse Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter (2019).

She currently resides in West Chester.
