Jen O'Donnell, a graduate of Upper Perkiomen HS and West Chester University (1983), she has spent the last 33 years (1983) officiating lacrosse. An All-American scholastic player at Upper Perkiomen, she played Field Hockey, Basketball, and Lacrosse. She graduated from West Chester in 1983 with a BS in Health Education concentration in Athletic Training, and immediately dove into Officiating. She achieved her first rating (Local) in 1983, and quickly moved up the ranks achieving her International Rating in 1994. At the Collegiate Level of Officiating, O’Donnell has worked post-season tournaments for the ACC, CAA, Atlantic 10, Patriot League, Big East, Ivy League, and ALC Conferences. From 1989-2015, Jen officiated NCAA Championship games. She worked over 20 NCAA Final Four Games, including 14 Final Championship Games. Of those 14 Final Games, she was the head official in 13 of them. Internationally, O’Donnell’s experiences covers 15 years. She has worked two World Cups (High Wycomb, England 2001 and Annapolis, MD 2005). In 1999, she umpired in the U-19 World Championships in Perth, Australia. She has also umpired numerous international matches with the United States vs. Japan, Canada, Wales, and England, to name a few. Jen has also been a clinician and evaluator at the local, national, and international level. Jen has also had a successful career as a Field Hockey Coach. She has had success at both WC Rustin and WC Henderson High Schools. Her teams have won 5 Ches-Mont Field Hockey Titles, and 1 District I Title (2013). She is also the founder of West Chester Field Hockey Youth Program. In 2009, Jen was inducted into both the Philadelphia/Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter Lacrosse and the US Lacrosse Halls of Fame. She was awarded the Addy Kelly Award in 2012 by West Chester University’s Athletics Hall of Fame. Jen is a proud Mom of 2 great children (John and Katie), and when able loves watching her kids play or coach. She is married to John O’Donnell, and they reside in West Chester.
